As an only child, I grew up with dogs and never went long without having a "4-legged sister", but when I moved out of the house and got my own home, my husband and I decided to wait a while to get a dog. One day I stopped at my mother's after work to check on her 15 year old dog, my sister, Kelsey and she wasn't doing well. That night the worst happened, we had to take her for the one way trip to the vet. At the end of all my pets lives, I always felt like I should be there to be the last person they see, so they know they're aren't alone. That night, in Kelsey's last moments, it was like she was telling me not wait any longer, get a dog of my own. The next day my husband and I went to the SPCA in Angola and found Zoe. She's so sweet and so smart. As Zoe gets older, I see so much of Kelsey's attitude and manners and I find myself calling her "Kelsey" ALL the time! So, I think that Kelsey's spirit is in Zoe, which is good, because she was a great dog!
