We found this little guy in our backyard. We're not sure what kind of butterfly he is or where he came from. He lost a wing and couldn't fly away, he later died =*(

This is a male cecropia moth(a giant silkworm moth,of the family saturniidae).Although he may have lost a wing by being hit by a car,most likely he was attacted by a bird or a bat.Cecropia moths are one of north americas largest moths.Russell Granata
