This afternoon at approximately 3pm, a fire started from a pile of tires that was located near the tracks at Swan and Seneca streets. The Fire department did not respond to this fire for more than 15 minutes despite the fire being visible from the fire department less than a quarter mile away. The fire continues to smolder and was able to spread to encompass a large span of the open field surrounding the train tracks before fire control personnel were able to start putting the fire out.
