This is a of picure of a turkey vulture that was taken on West River Parkway on Grand Island on Saturday morning, June 6, 2009.
Turkey Vultures have become very common in the Niagara River Corridor over the past decade.
The bird is often mistaken for bald eagles, but the difference between the two is that when they are soaring the eagle's wings are straight and level , and the vulture's point up at the tips.
