My friend, Joe Cinelli running his fishing guide company landed a Sturgeon right off the Buffalo waterfront.
DEA suggested that the fish was around 100 years old and weighed in at arouind 180 lbs.
The fish was released safely

If you know how to rig up a bunch of worms or "other" baits properly , you can target sturgeon , and they have been taken for their eggs by unscrupulous nimrods who have zero regard for our environment & laws. Fine them very heavily !!!

The odds of catching one of these is so slim, however it is quite a thrill to see one up close. Targeting these fish is almost impossible as their are not that many to begin with.

though it is doubtful any of them will ever see or catch one again. Best to bite the ego and hope you are not known for BS fish stories rather than possibly kill a fish like that for a pic. Keep them out of the boat or keep your boat out of the wat

If you do catch a sturgeon you are not supposed to bring it aboard the boat. The fish should maintain contact with the water while you get the hook out, revive, and return. i don't blame these guys for wanting to break the rules a bit for a pic

These are an endangered fish and are not legally allowed to be targeted. A friend of mine caught 4 last week on worms with about 15 boats watching, and all of a sudden these guys catch one? They definitely targeted these fish and should be punished

My buddies caught a few at north gap on 6/21/09 The biggest one was 69" x33".
