Sweet Home Senior High School Scores Sports Equipment as Winner of YouNews™ and WKBW.com Contest

The basketball coach at Sweet Home Senior High School in Amhurst is going to be doing a bit of shopping this spring, courtesy of WKBW and YouNews™. The school recently scored $250 in sports equipment as a result of a video submission to WKBW.com and the Drive, Dribble & Dunk Contest. The winning submission was uploaded by Andrew Allen and features Ellie Allen delivering the perfect block, then driving back down the court to execute a well timed behind-the-back pass. The play finishes with another Sweet Home player scoring an easy layup.

YouNews editors culled through numerous Drive, Dribble & Dunk submissions from affiliate stations nationwide, and Allen’s video entry was one of only three selected to receive the grand prize. The Sweet Home sports department will receive $250 worth of equipment, awarded in the form of a gift card to an online retailer. As the submitter of the winning entry, Allen will receive top-of-the-line basketball shoes from Nike.com ($100 gift card).

Drive, Dribble & Dunk winning submissions were also selected from YouNews affiliate stations in Corpus Christi, TX (ABC affiliate KIII) and Madison, WI (ABC affiliate WKOW). The contest ran on WKBW.com from February 16 through March 23, 2009.

The YouNews "Post Your Pet" National Contest will run on WKBW.com from July 6 to August 7, 2009. Website users will be invited to upload pet videos or photos for a chance to win one of FIVE, $100 gift cards to purchase pet toys and treats. Categories include:
