The plant in the center of the photo is
Poison Ivy, which is a species that is found all over Western New York. However, not that many people can identify the plant even after coming in contact with it during an outing.
The leaves of the plant are said to be "polymoric", which means that there can be an inordinate amount of variation in the shape of the leaves.
The picture was taken at Buckhorn State Park on Grand Island Friday morning.
