I have four children at this school. I have turned down scholarships just to keep them there. I have not had one complaint for five years. Every single teacher/staff were always very professional and polite. They have done nothing but show deep concern for my children....Well that is until this one teacher appeared in our lives. I will address her as teacher #1. The ending of the last school year was the first encounter from teacher #1. My twelve year old son had appointments that would cause him to get to school a bit late. A few of his late days were mistakenly marked as absences. I get a call from teacher#1 saying ''He is going to repeat this grade because he has missed too many days''! I attempt to explain that he has not missed that many days, however she wasn't showing any interest in my words. Then she said ''I'm not threathening you but you will go to jail by him missing school so much'' she went on to say, ''I have seen it happen to this one lady, I'm not threathening you but you will be put in jail'' I tried to respect her concern even though she had a bad tone, which is disrespectful to me. Also she did threathen me with her choice of words, a few times repeating heself. I politely said ''Ok, he will be in school everyday'', and that ended. I quickly called staff #1 of the school and told what just happened. I was told to ignore teacher #1's words because they were not true, I was directed to call the attendence person and we went over the dates in question, yes they were all tardy days not absent days. Weeks later I get attendence court for my son, I told staff#1 that it was a mistake, she said just go anyway it's a good judge. We show up on monday and my son promised to be in school everyday. Next Monday we were called back as a weekly thing. I explained how obvious it is that I am ill and I can't make it here every week, staff #1 understood perfectly so I didn't need to be present with my son. That school year ended, now it's this one. I took pain medicine to make it to the open house, barely able to walk. Teacher #1 happens to be my eleven year old daughter's teacher. She saw my daughter standing next to me, so with-out any introduction she began to rant ''She needs to pay attention more, and work faster. She needs to speed it up or else. etc...etc...etc...'' I tried to speak and tell he that my daughter has been tested and it is proven that she has special needs. Teacher #1 loudly says ...''No! that is only fourty-five minutes, nobody gets more than that SHE IS SLOW....SLOW.... SHE IS.SLOW...''OMG!! I was crushed I couldn't argue with her about her attitude because my daughter was right next to me. I went downstairs and I was so hurt it showed. Teacher #2 asked me was I ok. I told her what just happened. She wasn't happy about it, she said don't worry they will make sure my daughter is still given her special care. I was hurt daily knowing my child would be subjected to teacher#1. I was so hurt inside. I would hear my child saying ''she's slow... she's slow ...she's slow'' and I became angry knowing that my child has been scared by those words from teacher #1. I tried my best to explain to her how some people are. The day after the election teacher #1 said to my child and her classmates ''I know you blacks and spanish and mexican people/families voted for Obama'' The children replied ''yes we did want him to win, not because he is black but because he was the opposite of Bush. Who did you vote for?'' She replid ''Oh I voted for Mcain''
