Local Author You've Never Heard Of.

Eden, New York, suburb of the city of Buffalo. In mid-October of 2008, local independent/small press author Joshua Calkins-Treworgy reviews notes for his next installment in a series the small handful of his readers have come to know as the 'Bob the Zombie' novels. He does this because, despite having no advertising or marketing budget or options, he's a storyteller, and that's what he loves doing.

Beginning approximately 18 months ago, Calkins-Treworgy decided that, with so many fiction manuscripts having been written, re-written, and then drafted third and final times, he would not sit around and wait for the traditional machine of the publishing industry. So he sent off his first and longest manuscript to several e-publishers, entitled 'Freedom or the Fire'. The book found a home with Robert Preece's Booksforabuck.com.

Calkins-Treworgy established a home for his fantasy novels, the Tamalarian Tales, with Preece's company. For his horror/occult works and the Bob the Zombie series, he turns to self-publishing tools, initially Lulu.com, and now CreateSpace.

After only 18 months from the beginning of this process, Calkins-Treworgy, a Western New York native and resident, now has eight books available for sale on the internet through booksforabuck and Amazon.com. Chances are, however, that you've never even heard of him.

To find out more and check out previews, or even purchase the works of this prolific local, head on over to www.booksforabuck.com or www.amazon.com. You can also check out his Myspace profile, AuthorinEden, at www.myspace.com.
