On Saturday, September 27, 2008, the Erie County Solid Waste Recycling Management department held an electronics recycling event at theErie Community College South Campus parking lot. At this event, residents could properly dispose of Computers and Accessories, Printers, Television Sets, VCRs/DVD/CD Players, Cell Phones, Batteries, Fluorecent Light Bulbs, and just about any other electronic item. Household items also could be dropped off including Stoves, Refrigerators, Washers, Dryers, Micreowaves, Air Conditioners, etc. As this event was very important, it was crowded with several lines of cars throughout the parking lot and onto Route 20A. It's suggested that the event has much longer hours, and is held much more often than just once a year. Also, such an event should be held at various locations for convinience. Recycling electronic items is very essential because they all contain chemicals that are too harmful to be placed in landfills. It also greatly reduces usage of landfill space.

How would we be able to participate in the next program? We recycle computers and donate to underprivileged families in the Erie area.
