London, Ontario’s greatest holiday tradition is retuning once again in 2013, bringing friends and families together to participate in the London Santa Claus Parade! Make plans to be part of the fun that includes a variety of floats, numerous bands and community groups marching together in support of a “Christmas Around The World” theme.
One of London's largest community events, the Santa Claus Parade annually draws upwards of 100,000 live and broadcast viewers. The event also provides support for many charitable organizations. Last year, 14,742 pounds of food was collected for the London Food Bank and nearly 2,700 brand new teddy bears were donated to the London Salvation Army. Donations were also given to Shriner organizations which support children in hospitals across Canada, and several other charitable organizations.
The parade is scheduled to kick off at 6 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 9, and will begin at Egerton and Dundas streets. The parade will then travel west on Dundas and will end on Ridout Street. Santa Claus should reach the end point sometime between 7:30 and 8 p.m.
