The popular Elmwood-Bidwell Farmers Market, featuring nearly 40 vendors selling fresh, seasonal and local produce and products, continues to attract large crowds into the month of October! Hours at the open-air market, a program of the Elmwood Village Association, are 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. every Saturday, rain or shine.
Providing musical entertainment on Saturday, Oct. 19, will be Don Z. from 8:15 to 9:45 a.m., followed by the Nickel City String Band from 9:45 to 11:15 a.m. and Erin Sydney Welsh from 11:15 a.m. to 12:45 p.m. The market also welcomes several community groups this Saturday, including Border Community Service of Niagara University, Market Nutritionist Nicole Klem, Canopy of Neighbors, Viridian Energy and Swing Buffalo.
The Electronic Benefit Transfer system is once again in place at the market for the 2013 season, and the market is offering $2 EBT incentive coupons; just purchase $10 in EBT tokens and get an additional $2 coupon that can be used just like the tokens. The incentive program is courtesy of the Erie-Niagara Tobacco-Free Coalition, Wellness Institute of Greater Buffalo and the Lexington Co-operative Market.
Additionally, the market is once again partnering with the Erie-Niagara Tobacco-Free Coalition to promote a smoke-free environment this season.
