While the calendar has turned to September, the popular Elmwood-Bidwell Farmers Market, featuring nearly 40 vendors selling fresh, seasonal and local produce and products, is showing no signs of slowing down! Hours at the open-air market, a program of the Elmwood Village Association, are 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. every Saturday, rain or shine.
Providing musical entertainment on Saturday, Sept. 7, will be Paul Arata from 8:15 to 9:45 a.m., followed by violinist David Adamczyk from 9:45 to 11:15 a.m. and Dan & Leanne from 11:15 a.m. to 12:45 p.m. The market also welcomes several community groups this Saturday, including Crisis Services, Canisius College Women’s Athletics, Friends of the City of Buffalo Animal Shelter, UB Regional Institute and the UB School of Architecture and Planning.
Offering wine tasting at the market this Saturday will be Schulze Vineyards & Winery and Leonard Oakes Estate Winery.
The Electronic Benefit Transfer system is once again in place at the market for the 2013 season, and the market is now offering $2 EBT incentive coupons; just purchase $10 in EBT tokens and get an additional $2 coupon that can be used just like the tokens. The incentive program is courtesy of the Erie-Niagara Tobacco-Free Coalition, Wellness Institute of Greater Buffalo and the Lexington Co-operative Market.
Additionally, the market is once again partnering with the Erie-Niagara Tobacco-Free Coalition to promote a smoke-free environment this season.
