The Elmwood-Bidwell Farmers Market, in cooperation with The Wellness Institute of Greater Buffalo, will host its second Wellness Lane event of the season from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 17, at the market.
As part of the farmers’ market, the Wellness Institute and its partners will be offering free health-related information, resources and fun. Market visitors interested in networking with local health organizations will have the opportunity to meet several health and wellness professionals. Also joining the market this week will be the League of Women Voters of Buffalo/NIagara and market nutritionist Nicole Klem.
Providing musical entertainment on Aug. 17 will be singer/guitarist Rob Falgiano from 8:15 to 9:45 a.m., followed by singer/guitarist Sara Elizabeth from 9:45 to 11:15 a.m. and the Nickel City String Band from 11:15 a.m. to 12:45 p.m.
Offering wine tasting at the market this Saturday will be Arrowhead Spring Vineyards and 21 Brix Winery.
The Electronic Benefit Transfer system is once again in place at the market for the 2013 season, and the market is now offering $2 EBT incentive coupons; just purchase $10 in EBT tokens and get an additional $2 coupon that can be used just like the tokens. The incentive program is courtesy of the Erie-Niagara Tobacco-Free Coalition, Lexington Co-operative Market and The Wellness Institute of Greater Buffalo.
Additionally, the market is once again partnering with the Erie-Niagara Tobacco-Free Coalition to promote a smoke-free environment this season.
