From the incredible sounds of the Amherst Symphony Orchestra to amazing feats of strength at the annual Scottish Festival, Buffalo Niagara Heritage Village will be the place to be throughout August for a wide variety of entertaining events. And just so they don’t feel left out, there’s something for our four-legged friends as well!
The Amherst Symphony Orchestra will kick things off with a free admission concert at 6 p.m. Friday, Aug. 9, on the historic grounds of Buffalo Niagara Heritage Village. The orchestra, which has been serving the Western New York community since 1946, will perform rain or shine. Light snacks and refreshments will be available, so bring the family and enjoy the incredible sounds that will fill the evening air.
The ever-popular Scottish Festival returns to Heritage Village from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 17. Stop by for traditional Scottish food, beer, dancers, pipe bands, live performances and the amazing Highland Games! National touring act The Town Pants will be headline a day filled with entertainment. This is an event that promises — and delivers — something for everyone, from sheep-herding demonstrations to haggis and meat pies courtesy of The Scottish Cottage.
Tickets to the Scottish Festival are just $10, and VIP tickets are also available. Please contact Buffalo Niagara Heritage Village for details.
There will be an abundance to wagging tails and wet noses at Heritage Village on Saturday, Aug. 24, as Pet-A-Palooza returns from 10:30 a.m. to 4 :30 p.m. Bring your dog along and shop for fun toys, treats and more. Learn about and visit local rescue organizations, and maybe you’ll even meet your new best friend! Lectures and training sessions will also be available on-site, and the event will feature pet contests, raffles and prize giveaways.
Pet-A-Palooza is brought to you in conjunction with Open Arms Rescue of WNY. Interested in taking part in the event as a retail or food vendor? Please contact Jaime Brawdy, BNHV events coordinator, at firstname.lastname@example.org.
