Kerry Langan, author of two critically acclaimed collections of stories, “Only Beautiful & Other Stories” and “Live Your Life & Other Stories,” will return to her hometown of Buffalo to read from her books at Dog Ears Bookstore at 7:15 p.m. Monday, July 15.
When asked about her choice of venue, Langan noted: “I've been hearing fabulous things about Dog Ears Bookstore for years. When I learned it was located on Abbott Road in beautiful South Buffalo, my childhood home, I was overjoyed. I was born in Mercy Hospital on Abbott Road, lived on Salem Street and Hancock Avenue, swam at the old YMCA, took violin lessons at the convent and Irish dance lessons at St. Theresa's, and attended St. Martin's School. Some of my fiction takes place in South Buffalo. I can't imagine a more wonderful place than Dog Ears to share my writing!"
Langan, who completed her undergraduate and graduate education in Buffalo, had a career as an academic librarian before becoming a fiction writer. Prior to the publication of her books, her short fiction appeared in more than 40 literary journals published in the United States, Canada and Asia. She currently resides in Oberlin, Ohio with her husband and children.
