The annual Annunciation Church Picnic, a fun- and music-filled family event featuring great food, kids’ activities, raffles, live entertainment, specialty booths and much more, will take place Aug. 16-18 on the parish grounds at 7580 Clinton St. in Elma.
The fun kicks off at 5 p.m. Friday, Aug. 16, with a delicious fish fry, a Classic Car Cruise Night from 6 to 9 p.m. and music by Hit ’n Run from 7 to 11 p.m.
Activities on Saturday, Aug. 17, will kick off at 1 p.m. and will include a pork chop dinner at 4 p.m. and musical entertainment by the Carnival Kids Steel Orchestra from 2 to 4:30 p.m. and The Strangers from 7 to 11 p.m. Volunteers will also be serving Annunciation’s famous clam chowder throughout the day!
A Polish Polka Mass at 11:30 a.m., featuring John Stanczyk & Rare Vintage, will kick things off on Sunday, Aug. 18. Sunday’s menu will include a chicken barbecue beginning at noon and a final opportunity to sample Annunciation’s famous chowder. BackBeat ’64, a Beatles tribute band, will play from 12:30 to 3:30 p.m., followed by 12-time Grammy Award nominee Lenny Gomulka & Chicago Push from 4 to 8 p.m.
Annunciation’s picnic will also feature cash raffles as well as opportunities to win an Amish quilt, theme baskets and much more. A continuous food court featuring delicious sandwiches and a variety of items straight off the grill will also be offered throughout the event.
