Applications are still being accepted for the “Love Everybody 5K Walk/Run” taking place on Saturday, June 15, at Northwood Elementary School, 250 Northwood Ave., West Seneca. The event is being held in memory of Devin Miller, a sixth grade student at Northwood and an avid runner who lost his life in December 2012 after being struck by a car.
Survived by his parents, Eric and Stephanie Miller of West Seneca, and three younger sisters, Devin participated in many sports but his true passion was running with his dad. The entry fee for the June 15 event is $20 for the race, $15 for the walk and $10 for students 12 and under. Additional details, including a race application, can be found at http://loveeverybody5k.com/Home_Page.html. The first 300 registered runners will receive a premium gift, and a post-race party will also be held for all participants.
Proceeds from the event will benefit Northwood Elementary School, Kaden’s Kisses, and the Devin Miller Scholarship. This scholarship will assist graduating high school seniors who attended Northwood Elementary and are planning to pursue a college degree.
