Two family owned businesses are among the first to open their doors within the historic Horsefeathers Building at 346 Connecticut on Buffalo’s West Side. The Pasta Peddler and Blackbird Sweets are now open for business and the proprietors are eager to share their family recipes with their new neighbors and customers.
Founded in 1994, The Pasta Peddler is owned and operated by Eric Amodeo and his father-in-law, Mike Sedia. Blackbird Sweets was founded in 2004 by Andrea Sedia Amodeo, wife of Eric and daughter of Mike.
Previously known throughout Western New York for their participation at the Elmwood-Bidwell, Williamsville, Hamburg and East Aurora farmers’ markets and the Winter Market at Horsefeathers, The Pasta Peddler offers a wide variety of gourmet pastas, ravioli and sauces. Their new facility within the Horsefeathers Building offers both retail space and a production facility where customers can watch as fresh pasta is prepared on-site.
A professional cake artist, Andrea Amodeo’s edible creations have been delighting customers for nearly a decade. Whether you’re planning a birthday party, shower, dream wedding or special event, Blackbird Sweets delivers confection perfection with every bite. Specialties include birthday, wedding and special event cakes, cupcakes, cookies and brownies. Delicious vegan desserts are also available.
In addition to the retail outlet and production facility at Horsefeathers, Blackbird Sweets is now enjoying its first season at the popular Elmwood-Bidwell Farmers Market and also participated in the Winter Market at Horsefeathers.
