Kianna second degree burn

second degree burn due to negligence

Kianna 17 months old attends a home day care with a ;ady named Wilmary Adorn, her daughter was ironing in her room and when she was done put the iron on the floor. Kianna was not being watched and got into that room that she is not supposed to be in and got a second degree burn on her leg located beside her knee on her inner leg. Wilmary brought Kianna home to show me the burn, the burn was unwrapped and look like it did not have any medication on it. Wilmary wanted to take Kianna back to the day care but I took her to the hospital instead. The hospital found Wilmary story to be fishy and asked me if I thought the burn was intentionally. A 51A was filed on her through the department of social services and her licensing department was contacted. The investigation is still under way but Kianna seen a plastic surgeon the day after the hospital visit to make sure the burn was not infected and that it was healing nicely, she also has to see this plastic surgeon almost weekly to ensure the proper healing of the burn. Kianna is in the midst of switching day cares, Kianna has not been the same since. She wakes several times during the night in pain, she is afraid of loved ones and friends, she does not allow family and friends to hug and kiss her like before. Kianna does not allow her 3 year old brother to kiss and hug her like before and she used to be loved and hugged. Now we are late in our rent due to the expense in buying gauze, streil pads, bacitracin and tylenol to help kainna heal and to help the pain. She can not be in the sun, can not go swimming and has to be watched so when she is out for short periods of time that insects do not land on her leg. Bath time is extremely painful for her and she does not enjoy things she used to love such as bath time, her appetite has decreased and she is limited to play due to pain, fear and uncomfortability due to having her leg wrapped at all times not to mention changing the wrapping twice daily is painful for her as well.

I was ironing one time and in the very brief second i had accidently touched the iron with the back of my hand, it looked alot like the burn on your baby. Now the location seems odd but I hope for you babys sake that the B.S was telling you the truth

for an iron to be that hot, it is an automatic reflex to jump away when something touches our skin. By the looks of the burn, it appears to be intense. The shape of the burn looks like the tip of an iron and seems to have been held onto her flesh.
