Buffalo Bishop Richard J. Malone will celebrate Mass at Queen of Martys Church in Cheektowaga in celebration of the 10th anniversary of Mary Queen of Angels Regional Catholic School. The Mass will take place at noon Tuesday, April 30, followed by a luncheon in the school cafeteria, located at 170 Rosewood Terrace.
The anniversary Mass will be concelebrated by Msgr. Kevin O’Neill, canonical administrator of Mary Queen of Angels School; Fr. Louis Klein, pastor of Queen of Martyrs Church; and several current and former pastors from Catholic parishes in surrounding neighborhoods.
Mary Queen of Angels School was formed in 2003 following the merger of Queen of Martyrs School and Our lady Help of Christians School. In 2007, Mary Queen of Angels was designated a Regional Catholic School following the closure of all other Catholic schools in Cheektowaga.
Today, Mary Queen of Angels is a thriving elementary school with a strong enrollment of 210 students from Cheektowaga, Buffalo and surrounding communities. The school offers Pre-K, Universal Pre-K, kindergarten and grades one through eight. In September 2012, the school unveiled a new Media Arts Center featuring state-of-the-art computers, digital cameras and video equipment.
