The Resource Training Center (TRTC), a nonprofit organization based in Amherst specializing in the training, education and support of groups and individuals dealing with issues pertaining to substance abuse, is taking part in Spring it On, a 24-hour give-a-thon sponsored by the United Way. Buffalo Niagara’s Day of Giving will take place on Friday, March 1.
The Resource Training Center has set a one-day fundraising goal of $5,000. Donations can be made by clicking on the following link: http://fundraise.springiton.org/fundraise?fcid=236313. The organization will use the funds raised to provide a scholarship for someone interested in becoming a credentialed alcohol and substance abuse counselor.
TRTC offers credentialed alcohol and substance abuse counselor training; the New York State Drinking Driver Program; Alive at 25, a unique program that teaches young drivers to change how they approach driving; and a Recovery Coach peer mentoring program.
