Dog Ears to host festival this Saturday

The nonprofit Dog Ears Bookstore, located at 688 Abbott Road in Buffalo, will host a James and the Giant Peach Festival from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. this Saturday, Jan. 19.

Open to children ages 6 to 12, the event promises to be a “Splendiferous, gloriumptious and whizzpopping peach party!” Come invent words and characters of your own and have fun with games and activities centered around creepy-crawly creatures, the adventures of James Henry Trotter and, of course, peaches! Tickets to the stage production of “James and the Giant Peach” at The Theatre of Youth in Buffalo will also be raffled off during Saturday’s festivities.

Participants must register in advance by visiting Dog Ears Bookstore or calling Maureen at 713-6195 by Thursday, Jan. 17. There is a registration fee of $5 per child.

Saturday’s event is sponsored by Dog Ears Bookstore and The Theatre of Youth. For more information about the bookstore and upcoming events, please visit www.dogearsbookstore.org or call 823-2665. You can also follow Dog Ears Bookstore on Facebook for frequent updates.
