Mary Queen of Angels Regional Catholic School in Cheektowaga continues to improve its technology offerings with the addition of 25 new teacher iPads and a new SmartBoard in the kindergarten classroom.
Five of the iPads were acquired through an Enhancing Education Through Technology grant made possible by Erie I BOCES, while 20 iPads and a docking station were obtained through the Title IIA program. The iPads will be used for professional development purposes, allowing teachers to enhance their classroom instruction and improve student achievement.
The acquisition of the new SmartBoard was made possible through a gift from Queen of Martyrs Church.
The new iPads enhance Mary Queen of Angel’s position as the area’s leading elementary school in the implementation of today’s technology. In September 2012, the school unveiled its unique Media Arts Center which features 10 new Macintosh computers, digital cameras and video equipment.
Mary Queen of Angels School, providing a quality education for students in Pre-K, UPK, Kindergarten and Grades 1 through 8, will hold an open house from 9 to 11 a.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, March 5, at the school, located at 170 Rosewood Terrace (off George Urban Boulevard). Families interested in seeing the school while classes are in session are encouraged to visit during the morning open house event.
