Dog Ears plans Santa Celebration

A festive Santa Celebration and a book-signing with Buffalo author Timothy Bohen will take place at 6 p.m. Friday, Dec. 7, at the nonprofit Dog Ears Bookstore, located at 688 Abbott Road, Buffalo.

The Santa Celebration Christmas Extravaganza will take place on the second floor of the bookstore and will feature crafts, music, special guests and a baked good sale courtesy of employees of The Gap.

Bohen is the author of “Against the Grain,” which tells the story of a group of mostly Irish immigrants who toiled in the hulls of grain ships and in other waterfront industries in an area known as Buffalo’s First Ward. It talks about the place, its people and of their daily struggles, bringing the past to life. Various members of the author’s family lived in the First Ward from 1849 to 1949.
