Extended hours and holiday themed classes are featured at Enjoy The Journey Art Gallery, a proud supporter of national Small Business Saturday taking place on Nov. 24. The gallery and shop, filled with a wide variety of unique gift items created by local artisans, is located at 1168 Orchard Park Road in West Seneca.
Enjoy The Journey, which recently celebrated its two-year anniversary, will hold an opening reception from 7 to 9 p.m. Friday, Nov. 16, for “The Gift of Art” holiday exhibit highlighting work by East Aurora Art Society members. The exhibit will remain on display through the end of the year. Additionally, a members’ exhibit, “The Essence of Art,” will open on Nov. 30 and also remain on display through Dec. 31. An opening reception will take place from 7 to 9 p.m. Nov. 30.
A holiday glass ornament class will be held from 10 a.m. to noon on Saturday, Nov. 17 and Dec. 1. The cost is $25 per class and includes all supplies, and pre-registration is required.
“Gingerbread Houses with Mom & Me or Dad & Me,” a fun class for little ones, will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 8. Accompanied by Mom or Dad, kids will create a unique gingerbread house with Graham crackers, homemade royal frosting, candies and cereal. The cost is just $15 per child, and the registration deadline is Dec. 1.
The popular Wine, Women & Art class, a girl’s night out, will take place from 6:30 to 8:30 Thursday, Dec. 13. The $25 cost includes all supplies, and pre-registration is required.
“Inspiration of Winter,” an amateur photography contest, is open to all amateur photographers who can submit up to three 8x10 photos mounted on foam-core board. Entries may be submitted through Jan. 24, 2013, and an application can be found at www.etjgallery.com. The entry fee is $15 per photographer.
What’s is your creative muse? This is a call for visual artists, performers, poets, musicians and writers to meet once a month at Enjoy The Journey and network about their creative craft. These informal meetings will take place at 6:30 p.m. on the fourth Thursday of each month and are free and open to creative minds who enjoy networking with others in the arts.
Holiday hours at Enjoy The Journey Art Gallery are 1 to 7 p.m. Tuesday through Friday, 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday and 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday.
