Traditional Christmas dinner, play set

Celebrate a traditional Christmas dinner at the 19th century Dickens’ Dinner, followed by a spectacular performance of “The Cricket on the Hearth,” taking place beginning Nov. 30 at the Fanshawe Pioneer Village in nearby London, Ontario.

The country-style Dickens’ Dinner, with evening cocktails commencing at 6:30 p.m., will be held on Nov. 30 and Dec. 1, 7, 8, 14 and 15. Fanshawe Pioneer Village is located at 1424 Clarke Road, London.

“The Cricket on the Hearth,” a play by Jason Rip and directed by Jeff Culbert, is based on the short story by Charles Dickens. Tickets are just $50 plus HST each, and there is a maximum of 50 tickets per performance. Advance tickets are required and can be purchased online at www.fanshawepioneervillage.ca. Proceeds from the event will support Fanshawe’s Big On History Capital Campaign.
