The faculty members at Erie 1 BOCES Potter Career & Technical Center have selected Austin White, a senior from Hamburg High School, as their featured student of the month for October. Austin is currently enrolled in a Web Technology & Game Programming course under the instruction of Linda Rohloff.
Austin was selected by the staff and administration from the BOCES career center because he has shown significant growth during the past two years. He produces quality work, assists other students and goes above and beyond what is expected. Upon graduation, Austin plans to attend Rochester Institute of Technology majoring in game design with an ultimate goal of securing a position as a software designer or game programmer.
As part of the public education model, during the normal school day, Erie 1 BOCES offers more than 25 career and technical programs to high school students in Erie County. High school students interested in learning more about how they can participate in various programs such as Web Technology, Computer Networking and Health Careers should visit www.e1b.org/cte or speak with their high school counselor.
