Looking to get into the holiday spirit? Nearby London, Ontario’s 56th annual Santa Claus Parade: An Old Fashion Christmas, will take place at 6 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 10. One of London's largest community events, the Santa Claus Parade will begin at Egerton Street and travel along Dundas Street to Ridout Street.
The London Santa Claus Parade will continue to build on the success of previous years and will feature a variety of sparkling floats, numerous bands, community groups, clowns, horses, unicycles and of course, the big guy in red!
Additionally, the London Santa Claus Parade provides support for many charitable organizations. Last year, 14,742 pounds of food was collected for the London Food Bank and nearly 2,700 new Teddy Bears were donated to the London Salvation Army. Donations were also given to Shriner organizations which support children in hospitals across Canada, the Woman's Rural Resource Centre which provides support services for women and children impacted by abuse, and My Sisters Place which provides support for women dealing with trauma, mental illness, addiction, poverty, abuse, isolation and other health issues.
