The Museum of Ontario Archaeology in nearby London, Ontario, will present the Native Harvest Festival & Annual Traditional Pow Wow, a celebration of First Nations music, art and culture, from Sept. 14-16.
The event kicks off Friday evening with an outdoor concert featuring First Nations artists. On Saturday and Sunday, guests will have an opportunity to experience aboriginal dancing, First Nations craft and food vendors, cultural workshops, children’s activities, demonstrations and more. Friday’s concert, from 7 to 9 p.m., will feature Reztore Pride and Robbie Antone’s Blues Machine. Gates will open at 6 p.m.
Saturday hours will run from 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., while a 7:30 a.m. Sunrise Ceremony will open Sunday’s activities. Admission is free, but donations are welcome. Free parking and shuttle bus service to the Museum is available Saturday and Sunday from the following locations: Emily Carr Public School, 44 Hawthorne Road, London; St. Marguerite Catholic School, 170 Hawthorne Road, London; and Mansonville Mall (northwest corner, behind LTC bus stop) for public transit riders.
