Hi My wife Cheryl and I would like to submit this photo of our pet turtle we have had for over 10 years now. Her name is Myrtle May Hampton. She got her name because we were on vacation in May many years ago,in Myrtle beach while visiting the Hampton Plantation. I stubbed my foot on what I thought was a rock, but upon closer inspection, noticed it was a turtle. She is good friends with our hermit crab which in its own rights should be long gone since they do not live usually more then 3 years or so, and ours is now reaching 8 or more years old. Getting back to Myrtle. She loves worms, ans won't eat unless she is in her tub of water. there she takes care of her toileting, as well as eating. here are times she just will not eat for days even weeks as she goes into a weird hybrination type of mode, even though she still does her daily rooting around in her plastic terrarium like container/home. In any event we are proud to introduce our pet turtle, Myrtle May Hampton enjoying her summer of 2012.I didn't mention that she is approximately 35-40 years old, and will more than likely out live us since they can live to be very old if taken care of properly, as we have been doing since we got her.
