Visitors to nearby London, Ontario, will have two interesting events to check out over the weekend of Aug. 18-19, when Pawlooza and the Fanshawe Agricultural Fair create a fun festival atmosphere.
Pawlooza, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 18, is the quirkiest, whackiest and most ridiculously fun festival anywhere. Held on International Homeless Animals’ Day, it's a festival for dogs — 6,000 of them, in fact. And joining them will be approximately 25,000 animal lovers, 150 animal-related vendors, and 55 animal rescue and welfare groups from across Canada. It's the most dog-friendly event that you'll ever attend!
Take your dog dock diving, go swimming in the Pawlooza pond, test your dog's agility, go off-leash in the FunZone, get trick and obedience advice, get readings from a pet psychic, run the lure course, learn about pet first aid and watch agility demonstrations. There isn't a better place to spoil your dog!
Admission is $10 per vehicle, parking included, and all proceeds go to animal charities. For more information, please visit www.pawlooza.com or call (519) 439-0352, ext. 225.
Also taking place during the Aug. 18-19 weekend is the Fanshawe Agricultural Fair, where visitors can experience a 19th century rural fair including threshing, exhibits, music, a rare breeds display, music, classic cars and more.
The Agricultural Fair takes place at Fanshawe Pioneer Village. For more information, please call (519) 457-1296 or visit www.fanshawepioneervillage.ca.
