Attention Western New York music fans! Bluesfest International, Canada’s premier blues festival, will be visiting nearby London, Ontario, from July 13-15. The 13th annual Bluesfest London event will take in the northwest parking lot at the corner of Clarence and King streets right in the heart of downtown London!
Bluesfest London will host international artists, Grammy winners, Juno winners and a wide variety of national and local talent, drawing thousands of people into the downtown core.
Scheduled to perform on Friday, July 13, are Alfie Smith (Hamilton), Reverend Raven & the Chain Smokin' Altar Boys (Chicago/Milwaukee), Big Brother & the Holding Company (San Francisco), and Alto Reed's Motor City Allstars with special guest Mark Farner formerly of Grand Funk Railroad (Detroit).
Saturday will open with a music clinic at The Wolf Theatre featuring Stacy Mitchhart, Ray Norcia, Mike Walch and Mo’ Blues. Later performances will feature Stacy Mitchhart (Nashville), Mo' Blues (Argentina), Sugar Ray & the Bluetones with special guest Monster Mike Welch (Boston), Popa Chubby (New York) and Edgar Winter (Texas).
Highlights of the Sunday schedule include Jimmy Bowskill (Peterborough), Stevie T & the Kingtones (London), Front Street Blues Band (Detroit), Howling Diablos (Detroit) and Bobby Rush's Big Band (Louisiana).
