Annunciation School has recently added softball and soccer programs.

Annunciation School earns sports grant

Annunciation School in Elma was recently named a recipient of a 2012 Greater Buffalo Sports Hall of Fame Amateur Sports Development Fund (ASDF) grant. The grant was used to introduce a new soccer team at the school, located at 7580 Clinton St.

This is the second year in a row that the school has received a grant from the ASDF. Annunciation used last year’s grant to offer a new softball program.

The Greater Buffalo Sports Hall of Fame Amateur Sports Development Fund has been assisting area groups since 1993 when it originally provided support to the World University Games. A portion of the proceeds from the Greater Buffalo Sports Hall of Fame Annual Induction Dinner held each fall is endowed to the ASDF for disbursement. Funds are awarded to amateur athletes, teams and organizations seeking financial assistance to foster the pursuit of a higher level of athletic achievement.

Annunciation currently serves children in Pre-K3 through Grade 8 from the Alden, Alexander, Attica, East Aurora, Cheektowaga, Depew, Iroquois, Lancaster, Orchard Park and West Seneca school districts.
