The beautiful and historic Grand Theatre in nearby London, Ontario, has released its schedule of performances for the 2012-13 season ... and it looks like another great lineup!
Kicking off the theatre season is “Calendar Girls,” a hilarious, fun and big-hearted true story of a courageous group of women who bare all for a worthy cause. It will take to the stage from Oct. 16 through Nov. 10.
Get into the holiday spirit with “Miracle on 34th Street, The Musical,” on stage from Nov. 21 through Dec. 30. Could the department store Santa be the real thing? Kris Kringle transforms the cynics and New York City in this musical adaptation of the popular holiday favorite.
As the calendar turns to 2013, “Kim's Convenience” will take center stage from Jan. 15 through Feb. 2. Laugh along on the journey as Appa, the Korean owner of a convenience store, and his fractured but loving family confront the future and attempt to forgive the past.
“Yankee Tavern” steps up to the plate from Feb. 12 through March 2. Every bar has its regulars, and Yankee Tavern has Ray. Ray keeps things lively with his tall tales, strange encounters and surprisingly gripping conspiracy theories.
“Mom’s the Word — For Crying Out Loud,” takes its turn from March 19 through April 6. The original “moms” are back in this latest installment in the hilarious “Mom’s the Word” series. From the terrible twos to the terrifying teens and beyond, you’ll experience all the frustrations, embarrassments and dizzying joys of parenthood.
Rounding out the slate is “Dance Legends” from April 16 through May 18. Come celebrate a century of dance with an energetic and passionate tribute to legendary dancers and choreographers from Gene Kelly to Michael Jackson ... from “Singing in the Rain” to “Thriller.”
