Honoree Amy Magney and Dr. Faith Durden of ASVAB

BASCS Counselor Honored for Excellence

On Wednesday, May 30, 2012, Buffalo Academy of Science Charter School Counselor, Amy Magney-Mattai, Ed.M., was honored by the Regional ASVAB Career Exploration Program for outstanding commitment and service. Mrs. Magney-Mattai was presented with a framed Counselor Recognition Award at a luncheon held in her honor. The award was presented to Mrs. Magney-Mattai by the Regional ASVAB Career Exploration Program Manager, Dr. Faith E. Durden, in the company of BASCS colleagues and administration.

The ASVAB Career Exploration Program Counselor Recognition Award is presented to only 5 high school counselors from among 280 schools in the region each school year. According to Dr. Durden, the award honors those counselors who have "demonstrated extreme dedication to the well being of students in the domain of career exploration".
