Think Annunciation for summer and beyond

Annunciation School in Elma, a growing Catholic elementary school serving children from Pre-K3 through Grade 8, has programs to entertain and educate children this summer and beyond!

Annunciation’s annual KinderKamp program, designed to help ease entry into a formal school setting through creative learning experiences, will be offered from 9 a.m. to noon June 11-15. This unique program is open to students preparing to enter kindergarten at any school. Activities offered at KinderKamp include letter and number recognition, story comprehension, art, fun and games. To register or for more information, please call the school office at 681-1327.

A Summer Workshop for children entering Pre-K4 through Grade 7 will take place from June 25 through Aug. 3. Held from 8 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. weekdays, the summer program will include literature activities based on story genre, summer reading, hands-on math and science activities, reading comprehension and phonics (primary grades), arts and crafts, and much more. The summer program will also be a great prep for the NYS tests in Math and ELA. Participants can stay for a day, a week or the duration of the entire program.

Annunciation is also accepting applications for the 2012-13 school year. The school’s impressive Pre-K program, while following the New York State core standards for preschools, is constructed to have your child’s first experience in school be a positive and successful one! The Pre-K staff at Annunciation includes teachers Charlotte Hudson, Arlene Hassenfratz and Kim Gumina, and aide Diane Petix.

Pre-K3 is offered on Tuesday and Thursday from 9 to 11:30 a.m. or 9 a.m. to 2:45 p.m. Pre-K4 is offered on Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 9 to 11:30 a.m. or 9 a.m. to 2:45 p.m. Pre-K4 will also be offered from 9 a.m. to 2:45 p.m. Monday through Friday during the 2012-13 school year.
