Pet Connection Programs Inc., a maternity and special care animal shelter located in Marilla, will hold its seventh annual “Tails on the Trails” dog walk from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, June 2, at the Como Lake Park Casino in Lancaster. Proceeds from the event will benefit the animal shelter, founded in 1984.
“We are always excited about Tails on the Trails as it brings out so many pet owners and their favorite four-legged friends to help the homeless animals at the shelter, and it also allows us to take in future rescues,” said Julie Garvey, president of Pet Connection Programs Inc. “The people who participate in this event know that just a little bit of extra effort can help save a dog or cat’s life, and we appreciate that.”
In addition to the dog walk, there will be raffles, a basket auction, vendors and plenty of food all day. Other activities and demonstrations include a “good citizen” dog test, pet blessing, pet psychic, dog agility, canvas paintings done by your dog, contests and much more. Caricature artist Jeff Rankin will also be on hand, along with air brush and face-painting by Peg Riexinger, and Mr. No the Balloon Guy!
Registration is just $15 prior to May 27, and $25 after May 27. The walker collecting the highest amount in pledges will receive a prize valued at $1,000! For more information or to pre-register, or to donate a basket for the auction, please call 652-0192.
