No Frills Buffalo releases new book

Buffalo-based publishing company No Frills Buffalo is please to announce the release of its seventh book, “Legend of the Phoenix: Rise of Crescent,” by local author Gabriel Gonzalez.

A native of Niagara Fall, N.Y., Gonzalez’s “Legend of the Phoenix” trilogy will introduce readers to deep plot lines with twists and turns in every chapter. You will come to love certain characters and despise others. Humorous characters will make you laugh, powerful characters will make you tremble a bit, and the main villain in the story shows a compelling, sympathetic side that you may even come to love. The conclusion of each book prepares you for a overall ending that will never be forgotten!

No Frills Buffalo also announced that Jeff Schober, author of “Broken and Profane,” has several upcoming book signings scheduled in Western New York. From 1 to 3 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 11, Schober will appear at The Bookworm, 34 Elm St., East Aurora. On Thursday, March 8, he will speak and sign books at the Eden Library, 2901 E. Church St., beginning at 6.30 p.m. And on Saturday, March 10, he will sign books at the West Falls Community Library, 1966 David Road (time to be determined).

Broken and Profane is a novel set in Buffalo in the fall of 1980. A serial killer is on the loose, and his first murder — from City Hall's balcony — becomes his signature. The two Buffalo detectives charged with stopping the carnage can't stand each other, because one is having an affair with the other's ex-wife. Against a backdrop of crooked cops, drug dealers and transvestites, the story is crime fiction at its best!

Schober is also the author of the true crime book “Bike Path Rapist” with former Buffalo detective Dennis Delano.
