Students at Annunciation School in Elma are putting their own mark on the school’s annual open house — literally! The students were invited to use their artistic talents to create unique lawn signs for the open house that will be appearing in neighborhoods surrounding the school in the coming days. The open house event will take place at the school, located at 7580 Clinton St., from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 2.
The students were given freedom to include a special message on their signs, in addition to pertinent information about the event. Signs contain messages such as “Come see how we soar,” “You are always welcome,” “Touching hearts, teaching minds, transforming lives” and “I love Annunciation!” Robin Bartnik, the school’s art teacher, oversaw the project.
The open house on Feb. 2 will feature tours and an opportunity for visitors to meet the principal, teachers and staff. Highlights of the tour will include the school’s upgraded technology, expanded Pre-K rooms and unique Center for Health Science program.
