Dog Ears Bookstore and The Enlightenment Literary Arts Center has published “Mostly Malice and Mistletoe,” its newest collection of original fictional works by some of Buffalo’s best writers. The collection of 10 stories was compiled and edited by John Schreir, a retired Buffalo Public Schools English teacher and moderator of Dog Ears’ Flash Fiction Writing Program.
Among local authors included in the book are Shannon Burke, Elisa Goupil, Barbara Lawrence, Stephanie Patterson, Lissa Redmond, Lynn Socha, Lisa Will and John Schreir. An original illustration by Jessi Graden is featured on the book’s cover. Rocklyn Printing, another South Buffalo institution, printed the collection. Available for just $6 per copy, all proceeds will support reading and writing programs offered at the Literary Arts Center.
