Making delicious vegetarian products available to everyone is the mission of Genga Ponnampalam, proprietor of Go Veggies, a local company well-known for its vegan veggie burgers, veggie rolls, mango pudding and veggie catering. And while his products have been a big hit with the weekly crowd at Buffalo’s popular Elmwood-Bidwell Farmers Market for several years, business has grown to include many retail outlets throughout Western New York.

For example, Go Veggies products are now being carried year-round by the Lexington Co-op in Buffalo’s Elmwood Village, Budwey’s Supermarket and Dash’s Market.

Genga prepares his products using the freshest ingredients available. His veggie burgers, for example, contain cooked brown rice, sunflower seeds, fresh carrots, fresh mushrooms, vegetable oil, fresh broccoli, fresh onion, salt, fresh garlic, and fresh green pepper. The same can be said for his veggie rolls, which feature ingredients such as potatoes, peas, wheat wrap, spices, salt and vegetable oil.

“Our veggie burgers are a blend of American and Southeast Asian appetites,” said Genga. “Our products are greatly welcomed by health-conscious people. The major medical conditions we face today are obesity, heart disease and diabetes which are largely a result of our diet. A vegetarian diet would reduce the risk of most of the major illnesses.”

Go Veggies also caters social events such as parties, dinners, family occasions, seminars and workshops in the Buffalo Niagara area. For more information on catering and year-round product availability — including gluten-free, soy-free and vegan — please visit www.goveggies.com, email goveggies@gmail.com, call 908-2778 or follow Go Veggies on Facebook at http://www.facebook.com/goveggies for frequent updates.

Go Veggies also offers a shared vegetarian kitchen and food processing company located at 1290 Sheridan Drive, Buffalo. The facility features commercial ovens, freezers, refrigeration, food processors, mixers and dry storage. Shrink wrapping and nutrition label creation is also available. Please contact Genga for more information.
