Writing poetry has been a hobby of Judith Rucki since she was a child.

Local poet plans Clarence book signing

Bowmansville resident Judith A. Rucki will be signing copies of her first book, “Fragments of a Life — A Collection of Poems,” from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 13, at Monkey See, Monkey Do, an independent bookstore located at 9060 Main St., Clarence.

Rucki, who grew up in Cheektowaga, earned a B.S. in business administration from the State University of New York at  Buffalo and a M.S. in public relations management from the State University of New York College at Buffalo. She also attended Cornell  University’s School of Labor and Industrial Relations. Writing poetry has been a hobby since she was a child.  

Most of Rucki’s 40-plus-year career was spent in marketing, advertising and public relations along with a stint as an adjunct professor at Buffalo State College. Her professional experience includes the worlds of corporate, not-for-profit and higher education. Rucki currently works as a public relations consultant and freelance writer.

“Fragments of a Life” is the fifth book published by No Frills Buffalo, a local publishing company founded by Buffalo native Mark Pogodzinski.
