New life for Horsefeathers building

Hundreds of guests stopped by the Horsefeathers Market & Residence on Saturday, Oct. 22, for the building’s first event in many years. A National Food Day celebration, sponsored by The Frizlen Group, featured area farmers, wineries, food producers, live music and much more.

Buffalo-based architectural firm The Frizlen Group is set to begin rehabilitating the five-story, 114-year-old “Horsefeathers” building in the very near future. Plans for the building include a local foodmakers’ market in the basement and on the first-floor, and 18 loft-style apartments on the upper floors.

The award-winning Frizlen Group is quickly becoming recognized as the architectural firm of choice for innovative and green urban projects and historic restorations in the City of Buffalo. Among the firm’s impressive portfolio are properties at 257 Lafayette Ave., 448 and 504 Elmwood Ave., and 305 Utica St.
