Tourism London announced recently that they, in partnership with the John Labatt Centre, will host the first ever 2011 Synchro in the City — London Synchrofest International presented by Freedom 55 FinancialTM. This International Senior Invitational Competition will be held Dec. 27-29 at the John Labatt Centre in nearby London, Ontario.
“This is a groundbreaking event that we hope will stimulate the local economy and profile more fully the athletic skill and artistry of synchronized skating,” said John Winston, general manager of Tourism London. “This is an exciting, creative initiative and we are pleased to offer this family event over the holiday season.”
Countries currently committed to sending world-class teams to the event include Canada, the United States, Japan, Russia and Finland.
The 2011 Synchro in the City — London Synchrofest International will see the world’s top synchronized skating teams compete for $50,000 in prize money. Tickets go on sale today (Oct. 21) at noon and can be charged by phone by calling (866) 455-2849 or ordered online at www.johnlabattcentre.com. Tickets are $45 for an all-event pass or $25 for a single event pass (plus FMF and service charges).
