Local company seeks aspiring writers

Founded by Buffalo native Mark Pogodzinski, No Frills Buffalo will consider works submitted in the fiction, non-fiction, poetry, short stories, graphic novels, young adult and picture book categories. In the past year, No Frills has published three books by local writers: “Flashes and Specks,” a novel by Pogodzinski; “Diamonds in the Rough,” a compilation of short sports-related stories by West Seneca resident Joe Kirchmyer; and “How to Tame a Macker,” a children’s book written by Mark Privateer and illustrated by Nicole Haberer. Several more books by Western New York writers are currently in the works.

All submission will be reviewed and all authors will be contacted within three months, according to Pogodzinski. For consideration, authors should send an outline and three sample chapters to No Frills Buffalo at submissions@nofrillsbuffalo.com.

No Frills Buffalo books are available at the following locations: Amazon.com, Powell's Books, B&N.com and through special order at individual Barnes & Noble stores, ECKO.com, and fine booksellers in the Western New York area including The Second Reader Book Store, Talking Leaves, Dog Ears Bookstore and Lift Bridge Books in Brockport.
