The Buffalo Public Schools will hold the Attendance Counts Summit on November 8, 2011. The purpose of the Summit will be to kick off the district's efforts to improve attendance and to engage student, parents, and community partners in the effort. Hedy Chang, Director of Attendance Works and national attendance expert will deliver the morning keynote.
A panel of staff and community members involved in the New York City attendance pilot will share lessons learned. The afternoon will consist of facilitated work sessions by stakeholder groups to identify solutions each group can contribute to improving attendance.
