Romeo Doyle Muhammad Scholarship Winners

Associate Superintendent for Educational Services Dr. Will Keresztes represented the Buffalo Public Schools at the Romeo Doyle Muhammad Scholarship ceremony at the main branch of the Buffalo and Erie County Public Library on Saturday, August 13.

The late Romeo Doyle Muhammad was a veteran of the Korean War and a strong advocate of education. He encouraged youth to stay in school. The scholarships were presented in his honor by his wife and former Buffalo Public Schools teacher, Eva Doyle.

Recipients were Shakir Muhammad, a graduate of Early Middle College High, who will attend Erie Community College next year as an Information Technology major; and Ambrosia Jackson, a graduate of Bennett High School, who will attend Hilbert College as a Criminal Justice and Forensics major.

The Hon. Betty Jean Grant presented certificates from her legislative office.
