A group of 4-H moms from the Cattaraugus County Fair decided to do good for women at the end of the fair last summer. We decided to raise a beef steer and raffle him off for a chance to win a 1/2 or 2 - 1/4 beef ready for the freezer. Everything needed to raise this steer, named "Komen", had been donated including the steer; feed; hay;care;vet services;housing and raising; processing; and tickets. This means 100% of the proceeds go to the Susan G. Komen for the Cure. Saturday, July 23rd was the drawing and the Mamas raised over $5,300. "Komen" will be at the Cattaraugus County Fair for the week beginning Sunday, July 31st and so will all the Mama's and their heifers. Just follow the pink in the beef barn and you will find us.
