The Buffalo Public Schools Adult Education Division conferred over 300 GED diplomas this year in a ceremony held at the Burchfield-Penney Art Center on June 23rd.
Ellicott District Council member Darius Pridgen, Board President Ralph Hernandez, and Associate Superintendent Dr. Will Keresztes addressed the graduates.
Stuart Silversch...atz, New York State GED Student of the Year from Buffalo was this year's GED Graduate Speaker. The division has 30 GED sites around the City of Buffalo with 3 new sites scheduled for opening next year.
Student Luis A. Moreno was the recipient of the 2011 Ricky Costner Jr. Award, given to the student that most emulates the traits of Ricky Costner Jr., an Adult Education student who was tragically killed in 2009. Ricky was known for his hard work, dedication, independence, and perseverance.
